When I signed up for a space via your ...
When I signed up for a space via your website it was not clear that I had to purchase a lock from your facilities and that this was custom made for you. It was also not clear that you would raise the rent every year by 15%. Kinda disappointing. I do understand that you need to cover costs but 15% year-to-year is a bit on the high side.

⚠️ Bad theft: ceilings are chicken wire & Public Storage doesn't care 😕
⚠️ DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE: prices were good, but the ceilings are literal chicken wire, thieves pry it up, and Public Storage knows but doesn't care. 😕 We rented a large unit for 2021 and moved in many of our belongings. In August, we got a call that our mattress was in the hall and our unit's door was open: there'd been a break-in. Dresses and undergarments were ripped out of suitcases and thrown all over the floor, purses and IDs were rifled through, and the thieves stole laptops, a desktop, and a bike. The police immediately found the entrance: The chicken wire ceiling had been yanked up. It's apparently common for thieves to break in from above, permanently disable the door's cylinder lock from behind, and exit through the door. ➡️ The really sad part: This isn't new. 🤕 Public Storage's manager said this is the #1 cause of break-ins at the facility. There's no camera coverage and zero other ceiling protection: Literally anyone with a stepladder can start crawling over your unit. 😳😳 Naturally, Public Storage has no accountability for their building's top method of theft. You'd think they would close the Large Open Holes above units the first time a theft occurred. 🤔 Instead, they know about the obvious liability, haven't made any attempt to fix it, and don't take any responsibility when it's exploited. Don't make my mistake... go to another facility that will learn from times it missed the mark.

Dissatisfied and costs way more money than the prices displayed online.
I have a fairly large number of grievances. I find the necessity to purchase locks an unnecessary exploitation. In fact, when I first went onto the storage unit it was already locked with the Public storage’s lock and we had to jostle with it till we realised and had to go back all the way to call the manager. The locks can easily be part of the rental. I find the entry/exit rules weird. First, it’s not possible to exit the facility after 6pm — which makes it impossible to move in after 5pm (working hours). However, in the specific facility I was moving into, the manager leaves at 5pm (which we were never told). It makes it impossible to move after 4 pm, and we had to return twice without actually being able to move our stuff. I had to pay quite a lot additionally for renting the trucks twice. The third time, when we did come in the morning to move. We found the manager absent and gone for the next hour. How understaffed is the facility? Unable to acquire a moving dolly, we had to wait before moving out stuff again. In my storage unit itself, the lights were not functional and it was pain to move in our stuff where we had to use mobile flashlights just to put out stuff in. We also found a weird plastic bag just sitting on top of the unit, raising questions about the hygiene. The facility also did not ensure mandatory masking on entry to premise. It was uncomfortable being in proximity of unmasked tenants (again understaffed). Overall, I was fairly dissatisfied with the moving experience and ended up costing way more money than the prices displayed online.
